Hi, I'm James Kiarie — a Virtual Assistant based in Nairobi, Kenya, and for the last five years I've made it my mission to take the messy, time-consuming work off founders' plates so they can focus on what actually moves their business forward.
I didn't start out in virtual assistance. My background is in Civil Engineering — I hold a BA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology — and that training shaped how I approach every client I work with today. Engineers don't just react to problems; we diagnose them, design solutions, and build systems that hold up under pressure. That same mindset is what I bring to every inbox I manage, every workflow I automate, and every campaign I run.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of supporting founders and executives across five very different industries — tech startups, real estate, e-commerce, marketing agencies, and consulting firms. Each one taught me something different. Startups taught me speed. Real estate taught me consistency. E-commerce taught me systems thinking. Agencies taught me creative execution. Consulting taught me how to communicate with precision. I bring all of that to the table for every client I take on.
What I actually do, day to day: I run social media across Twitter/X, Facebook, and LinkedIn — not just scheduling posts, but building content calendars, designing graphics in Canva, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, and running paid ad campaigns that actually convert. I generate leads using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Crunchbase, build clean prospect lists, and launch cold email sequences through Mailchimp and GoHighLevel. I manage inboxes and calendars so my clients never miss a meeting or let a hot lead go cold.
But where I really come alive is in the systems and automation layer. I've spent the last two years going deep on AI tools — Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity — learning how to use them as force multipliers rather than crutches. I use n8n to build end-to-end workflow automations that connect the apps my clients already use, eliminate repetitive tasks, and sync data across platforms. A typical automation I build saves a client anywhere from 4 to 10 hours per week. That's real time back in your calendar.
I use GoHighLevel's full stack — funnels, email marketing, CRM, automated follow-ups — to give clients one central place to run their entire sales pipeline. For clients who need it, I also handle light bookkeeping through QuickBooks and Wave: invoicing, expense tracking, and monthly financial reporting.
